We Get It...
You are excited to try it out. However, it's crucial that you do not neglect the proper adjustment of the harness.
Remember, you only have to do it once! So let's do it perfectly. Start by watching the videos below:
ADJUSTMENT VIDEOS
Please select your size and version of the Ascension below, we will pull up the corresponding videos!

Fit the Harness to Your Dog:
Ensure even adjustment of the fitment hardware for a snug (two-finger tight) fit. The webbing on all adjusters should be "double-backed" to properly secure for the highest level of safety and crash protection please refer to the video on how to adjust your harness when you first receive it.
Preparing your dog for Vehicle Travel with the Ascension Harness:
Initial Vehicle Seatbelt Adjustment:
Saker Canine strongly recommends the use of a seatbelt lock to preset the length of the vehicle seatbelt system you will need to secure your dog.
1. Size the Ascension Harness to your dog.
2. Place your pet on the rear seat of the vehicle.
3. Extend the lap/shoulder vehicle seatbelt and feed it through the harness (in between the harness and your dog- NOT through the harness handle)(See the image below for reference).
4. Click the vehicle seatbelt latch plate into the buckle.
5. Install the seatbelt lock.
6. Disconnect the vehicle seatbelt and let the belt relax.
7. The seatbelt lock will provide you with enough slack to connect your dog without activating the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR). If the ALR is engaged, you will hear clicking as the vehicle seatbelt retracts. In this instance you will need to allow the seatbelt to relax and reconnect your dog. You do NOT want to engage the ALR.
8. Once you master connecting your dog using the Ascension Harness, you will want to do some acclimation training.
Acclimation Training:
Proper acclimation training is key to ensure a good travel experience for you and your pet. Start out with short trips and extend to longer trips over time while your dog is secured with the Ascension Harness.
RELATED TO CAR SAFETY
So we are currently in the making of the final video. But don't worry, this one will be live and running before you receive your harness.
Yes, this can be dangerous. Especially if it happens while you're driving. In this case, we suggest using the Buckle Protector. It will protect the unintented release of the seat belt.
