That's expected, and it's fine. All five ingredients are food-safe for both dogs and humans.
Some paw balms use tea tree oil, which can be toxic to dogs in concentrated amounts. Ours doesn't. We formulated this balm to be fully safe if licked or ingested in normal amounts.
If you ever have concerns, contact your veterinarian.
For protection, apply once before a walk, especially for outings longer than 15 minutes. Wipe off once you're back.
For extra moisture on paw pads, nose, or elbows, apply once or twice a day as part of your regular paw care routine.

We've used it indoors ourselves and haven't seen it stain wood floors. That said, we haven't tried every surface, so we'd recommend keeping it as an outdoor product to be safe.
