Got the Canyon Light to replace my dog's old backpack, and I have to say I am impressed with the quality of this harness/pack. Ran it through a couple tests with my dog and here's what we discovered:
-It is a bit of a process getting it adjusted, but is totally worth getting just the right fit. (Really best to get them moving, so you can see how the harness moves with them)
-The modular features of the harness are awesome, and it is very easy to switch from Core to Extended to Pack.
-A bit thicker material, but still very lightweight. Almost has a little more of a tactical harness feel and fit.
-We ran through snow, mud, water, and thick brush/undergrowth, and the harness material stood up great! No tears in the fabric and it dried pretty quickly. (Also cleans off very well!)
-Love the high-vis orange color! I have a low-vis dog, so high-vis gear is a must.
-The chest piece fits a bit weird, and when he has his head lower towards the ground (like when sniffing, or flat-out- running), the harness drops away from his chest and leaves a pretty good gap. (Even on a deep, barrel-chested dog!) I'm thinking maybe this has something to do with the two-part chest piece of the harness. (or it’s possible I haven't adjusted it just right, yet!) It has not caused any trouble so far, or snagged on anything- so it's probably not a huge deal- but thought it should be mentioned.
-I think the only thing I didn't like so much was the front chest buckle, which on the XL is pretty bulky, and could easily get caught on thick brush, branches or wire. It did exactly this, and because it was being pulled on by a 100lb dog, it broke before I could get to him. I told the folks at Saker, and they took care of it and sent me a new chest piece for the harness! I guess to avoid breakage in the future, I will have to double check that buckle is REALLY well-tucked into the sleeve of the harness.

Overall, I think any issues are far outweighed by the versatility of this dog harness/backpack. My dog didn’t complain about any chafing, and he seemed comfortable in it, and had awesome mobility. It was a bit pricey, but if it lasts a lifetime, I think it’s totally worth it.

I have the canyon light pack, Love it. Started training with just harness them added pack. It took a bit to get all the straps adjusted to fit perfect but now that it's adjusted, Wow super nice harness and pack. Highly recommend.

We have a small cattle dog and she can be a stubborn, so naturally I wanted to make sure that we had a versatile harness that was a little more comfortable but also help keep her safe on the jeep rides into the ADK mountains. We are yet to try the bags out but we already love this for running. I’d totally recommend this if your are wanting to have a “car seat” for your little companion. I wish the tan was available but these sell so fast. I jumped on the availability.

I love the fit and functionality of this harness. The handle is fantastic and I I’ve it’s compatibility with the rescue sling.

The is the best fitting harness I can find for my shepherd mix, who is very deep chested but also very narrow width wise. Also love the buckle on the neck piece as he is gear shy and hates things passing over his head.
